Preamble

Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) is a four-year undergraduate programme. The course is designed to bridge the gap between IT industries and academic institutes by incorporating the latest developments into the curriculum and providing students with a structured and complete understanding. The programme helps students build a successful career in Computer Science and prepares them for higher studies.

Objectives of the Programme

  1. Demonstrate the ability to adapt to technological changes and innovations in the discipline.
  2. Develop computer programs using functional programming and object-oriented programming paradigms.
  3. Train students in professional skills relevant to the software industry.
  4. Prepare the necessary knowledge base for research and development in Computer Science.
  5. Help students build a successful career in Computer Science and produce entrepreneurs capable of innovating and developing software products.
  6. Apply knowledge of mathematics, statistics, and computer science in practice.
  7. Enhance not only a comprehensive understanding of theory but also its application in diverse fields.
  8. Prepare young professionals for a range of computer applications, computer organization, computer networking, software engineering, web development, database management, and advanced Java.
  9. Design computing systems to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as safety, security, and applicability while working in multidisciplinary teams with a positive attitude.
  10. Enhance programming skills through project development in each language/technology learned during the curriculum.

Regulatory Approval

  1. This BCA programme comes under the guidelines and approval framework of AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).

Eligibility for BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications)

A candidate is eligible for admission to BCA if they satisfy the following conditions:

  1. Educational Qualification: – Passed the Higher Secondary Examination (12th Std.) conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education in Arts/Commerce/Science stream, or- Passed an equivalent examination from any recognized board, or – Completed a Diploma of not less than two years duration from a recognized institution.
  2. Entrance Examination Requirement: – MH-BCA CET (Maharashtra BCA Common Entrance Test) is compulsory for all candidates seeking admission to the BCA programme under Maharashtra State
